The Broadway cast of Moulin Rouge wore ORTTU (the Philip Top and Barroco Jacket, to be more precise) to perform at movie writer, director, and producer Baz Luhrmann’s birthday party (or, perhaps we should say, birthday extravaganza) last month.
The glamorous birthday bash was thrown by none other than Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and was attended by Dita Von Teese, Jessica Lee Goldyn (actress), Jordan Roth (theater producer), and Florence Welch (Florence and the Machine vocalist), among other celebs.
Luhrmann is best-known as the director of Romeo + Juliet (1996), Moulin Rouge! (2001), The Great Gatsby (2013), and Elvis (2022). In 2004, he also directed what IMDb calls “the world's most expensive advertisement.” Titled "No 5: The Film," this was a 4-minute movie for the iconic perfume Chanel No 5. The ad starred Nicole Kidman (who had previously starred in Luhrmann’s movie Moulin Rouge!).
