If I went up to an XL then the shirt would be fitted wrong in the shoulders but the length would be good and in the large the shoulders would be a standard large but more of a medium in length. Since I needed the shirt to match the suit i had for the wedding this wasn’t an option for me to return the purchased item. The best advice I could say is to buy straps and thigh highs to keep the shirt from slipping out of your pants.
